I bring to these programs, not only my professional experience in design and industry, but eight years of experience teaching studio ceramics on the college level. I introduce design students to the techniques, traditions, and problems of ceramic manufacturing, and show ceramic students new ways to think about design and production.
The workshops range from short lectures to multi-day programs, and include activities such as:

    - Slide presentation on plaster modelmaking
    - Introduction to plaster - tools and materials, mixing, forming
    - Discussion of design and drawing processes
    - Design for production in the studio or factory
    - Slides and videos of ceramics factories
    - Group discussions of participants' projects
    - Demonstrations of:

      Moldmaking
      Slipcasting
Turning plaster on the wheel and on the lathe
Sculptural modelling - from clay to plaster mold to
      ..plaster cast
Running plaster with jigs and templates
Forming solid plaster by hand and machine
      Developing working drawings and layout
